    About the Position:

    The problems Burning Glass solves are experienced the world around.  Burning Glass currently delivers data and solutions for the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.  Building on strong growth across these markets, the Company has recently embarked on a major globalisation initiative in order to deliver our insights more broadly and to tap a high potential growth engine to complement an aggressive new product roadmap. In advance of this effort, the Company has built a comprehensive job posting database across 12 European geographies as well as an online profile database spanning hundreds of millions of people worldwide and is now engaged in developing an analytics layer, with productisation expected beginning in early/mid-2019. 


    Burning Glass seeks a proven, hands-on Europe-based leader to drive this growth.  The Managing Director of Global Markets will be a key member of the executive team, reporting directly to the CEO.

    • Identifying, prioritising and opening new markets (including early relationship building with influential parties in government, industry, education, and NGO’s);
    • Developing and executing a go-to-market strategy that spans channel partnerships and internal enterprise sales;
    • Growing and leading both sales and operations teams across multiple sites;
    • Directly pursuing major enterprise accounts;
    • Working closely with the product and engineering teams to guide product development based on local market needs;
    • Identifying and pursuing potential acquisition targets to complement a core organic growth strategy; and
    • Spearheading thought leadership to extend to new markets Burning Glass’s well respected reputation for high quality and insightful research.


    • Excellent leadership and management skills;
    • Strong client-facing experience, including demonstrated track record of generating sales opportunities, articulating complex concepts, designing innovative solution approaches, and closing deals;
    • Track record of overseeing excellent product and service delivery functions to drive robust client value;
    • Experience managing, growing, and motivating diverse teams;
    • Outstanding communications;
    • Background in strategy development, potentially from top-tier consulting firm;
    • Experience and credibility in education, government, and/or NGO communities;
    • Comfort operating within fast-paced, high-growth, innovative cultures;
    • Strong data skills, including the ability to synthesis
    • Analyse and interpret large and complex data sets and to work with teams in assessing and improving accuracy;
    • Experience with presentation delivery and thought leadership; and
    • Financial analysis skills and experience with M&A target identification are a plus.
    • Travel commitment of 25% of time.
